Bronx River Watershed Summit



Thank you to all the speakers, facilitators, elected officials, agency representatives, Community Spotlight organizations, and attendees for joining us at the inaugural Bronx River Watershed Summit! We were delighted with the turnout, from local high school students presenting original research; to public officials from the city, county, and state levels; to organizations spanning regions. The caliber of speakers, the breadth of organizations represented in the Community Spotlight, and the diversity of breakout session topics were repeatedly mentioned as highlights. For those who are interested in collaborating with other organizations, the Community Spotlight organizations' slides are available here.

Clear priorities that emerged from the day’s activities included using art and social media to stimulate greater volunteerism, connect with the next generation of river advocates, and communicate critical information to the public. We are pleased with the overwhelmingly positive encouragement to have a watershed-wide workday in 2017 and look forward to partnering with many groups to plan and implement additional ways to work together for our river.
