November 15, 2017 (6-8pm)
LTCP Public Meeting
CUNY School of Law 2 Court Square West Queens, NY 11101

Calling All Waterway Advocates!

Join us with representatives from the NYC Department of Envioronmental Protection for the annual Citywide Long Term Control Plan Meeting. This meeting will focus on the Combine Sewer Overflow (CSO) program. CSOs refer to when there are heavy rains and the sewer system is at full capacity, a mixture of rain water and sewage are released into local waterways.

The City's proposed
CSO Long Term Control Plans will not make our waterways safe for recreational activities. They will leave hundreds of millions of gallons of sewage overflows in each waterbody annually, on dozens of occasions per year. Many of the plans – including the Bronx River LTCP – do not reduce overflow volume at all and instead call for diverting raw sewage into the East River.
