Outreach Program

Creating Community

Join Alliance programs to protect, improve, and restore the Bronx River corridor

Our foundation is community support and involvement in the Bronx River and its parks. Our Outreach programs connect you to the Bronx River, through robust volunteer programs and special events.

We offer many ways to help, whether you join in yourself or as part of a community organization, school, corporate group, or  park leadership. Volnteer opportunities include:

  • Tree planting.
  • Water monitoring.
  • Debris removal.
  • Invasive removal.
  • Other restorative initiatives.
  • Recreation and office assistance.

Connect with a “Friends of the Bronx River” group The Outreach Program starts and supports these groups. If you’re already in a group, we can link you with other groups, to learn from each other and be stronger collectively. These groups and your efforts promote the Bronx River so encouraging others join in efforts to restore and reclaim the River.

More ways The Outreach Program can help:  Plan a river event, connect your school or organization to the river, support fundraising to restore your river.

We look forward to working together on changing our borough.

our community by getting
involved with the Alliance

Deepen your roots in transforming your own ecosystem: restoring the river, making the greenway viable for wildlife, creating parks and trails, growing food, and making this accessible to all.

You’ll feel more part of this land and the people (and nature) living with it.Â
