PS 811X (1434 Longfellow Ave., Bronx, New York 10459)

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is holding a Project Information Meeting to provide information and invite comment on the Arthur Sheridan Enhancement Project.

The Sheridan Project would address the need for improved pedestrian accommodations between the neighborhoods to the west and the parklands and river to the east of the expressway. This is to be achieved by transforming the expressway into an urban boulevard and constructing three new pedestrian crossings. The proposed work includes wide planted medians, signalized pedestrian crosswalks, new street lighting, drainage, pavement striping and landscaping. A new pedestrian bridge will be constructed in Starlight Park over the Bronx River and the bikeway on Edgewater Road will also be upgraded.
