On June 12, the Bronx River Alliance was honored the "Valerie Chernow" award for Outstanding HOPE Voluntter by The Hope Program. This program also supports the organization, Sustainable South Bronx (SSBx), that helps low income residents of the South Bronx focus on job training and green constuction to make New York City more envioronmentally sustainable. We thank you for the recognition and will continue to help bring community together by restoring and exploring the Bronx River!

The Bronx River Alliance serves as a coordinated voice for the river and works in harmonious partnership to protect, improve and restore the Bronx River corridor so that it can be a healthy ecological, recreational, educational and economic resource for the communities through which the river flows.
The Alliance works in close partnership with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation and with over one hundred other partners to reclaim the Bronx River.
