Join Journei Bimwala for this 1.5–2 hour hands-on creative workshop that invites participants to explore the beauty, versatility, and artistic potential of plants through wearable art. Using both fresh and dried botanical materials, participants will create 2–3 unique handmade accessories such as earrings, bracelets, rings, hair accessories, and other botanical adornments using natural plant fibers and wildcrafted materials. The workshop encourages participants to see plants beyond food and medicine by highlighting their role in fashion, self-expression, culture, and art.

Throughout the session, participants will learn simple techniques for designing and assembling wearable pieces using leaves, flowers, vines, seeds, grasses, and other natural materials. The workshop is designed to foster creativity, imagination, and a deeper connection to the natural world while introducing participants to sustainable and plant-based crafting practices. Participants will also explore how adornment has historically been used across cultures as a form of identity, celebration, and artistic expression.

The workshop will conclude with a celebratory mini photoshoot where participants will wear and showcase their handmade creations. These portraits will highlight the elegance and versatility of plant-based fashion while documenting each participant’s creativity and personal style. The goal of the workshop is to create a joyful and inspiring experience that blends nature, art, fashion, and community while showing the many ways plants can be transformed into beautiful wearable pieces.
