Join NYC Bird Alliance for a bird outing in the Bronx River Forest on May 30th from 9AM – 11AM! Extending south into the New York Botanical Garden, The Bronx River Forest is a remnant of the original forests and floodplains that once blanketed the Bronx River corridor. Recent projects led by NYC Parks and the Bronx River Alliance to restore the river’s corridor and increase habitat have made it a perfect place to spot birds and other wildlife!
Registration encouraged. The group will meet on Burke Avenue Bridge (a pedestrian bridge in the park that crosses over the river). Free.Â
Accessibility: The Bronx River Forest contains primarily natural, unpaved paths. You can enter the park via a staircase at Burke Avenue or through Rosewood Playground, where there are also public restrooms located.
Directions:Â The closest subway stop is Burke Ave on the 2 and 5 lines.
