Join us and our partners from the North American Indigenous Center – New York for a free day of fun and celebration of indigenous cultures! This event will be held at the canoe launch area of the Mitsubishi River Walk at the Bronx Zoo. The event will run from 1-4pm and will feature a variety of activities including:
- Canoeing and Kayaking
- Northeastern Indigenous Dances, starting at 2pm
- Dreamcatcher making workshop
- Mini-library of indigenous books
- Indigenous Art exhibit
NAIC-NY will lead a traditional Haudenosaunee Social with various Northeastern Social dances. Their head dancers will also be sharing the cultural foundations and knowledge in relation to the songs and dances.
All activities are walk-in and first come, first served. No pre-registration is available for the event.
**Note: The entrance of the Mitsubishi River Walk is accessible via the Boston Road & Bronx River Parkway Road entrance of the Bronx Zoo (near Bronx River Parking Lot B). There will be NO parking available on location for this event, though street parking may be available within walking distance. We highly encourage participants to take public transportation.**
