Join us for our upcoming Project WASTE event! This event is part of our hands-on outreach strategy which includes trash collection and assessment. As a volunteer, you will help our Ecology staff count, assess and remove trash from the Muskrat Cove trash boom so that we can categorize floatable trash into distinct categories while keeping the river clean. Information on the quantity, toxicity, material, and brands of trash will help to identify sources of pollution and to inform communities, businesses and municipal officials of this Bronx River problem.

The event will take place in-water at the Muskrat Cove trash boom. The activity will start around 3:00pm and last until 5:00pm at the latest. All materials will be provided. Nearby transportation includes the 2 train at 233rd Street and the Metro-North at Woodlawn.

The event location is accessible by walking down the stairs from the south side of the 233rd Street bridge or from entering the park at the Woodlawn train station and walking south along the jogging path.
