Join the Bronx River Alliance to celebrate the beautiful urban forest of Shoelace Park on City of Forest Day! This free family friendly event will include canoeing on the Bronx River, a guided nature walk through the park, a park clean up, educational information about research projects along the Bronx River, and ways to get involved and help steward this amazing community resource.
This event will take place from 12pm – 3pm, near the Olinville Playground (closest to the 219th Street and Bronx Boulevard entrance of the park).
This free, family-friendly event will include:
- Canoeing on the Bronx River (this activity is first come, first served)
- Guided Nature Walk to learn about the trees and wildlife in our beautiful urban forest
- Park clean up – register at the link below!
- Information from our EELS Interns about ongoing projects along the Bronx River
- Learn about the Friends of Shoelace Park group, and how to join!
