Community Fridays are back at Concrete Plant Park

CommunityFriday_montage

Family, friends, and partners came together to celebrate the kickoff of this season’s Community Friday events at Concrete Plant Park. On Friday, June 28, over 250 people enjoyed community paddling, cooking demonstrations, foodway tours, and more. Thanks to Youth Ministries for Peace and Justice (YMPJ), Concrete Friends, and NYC Parks for co-organizing the event. Special shout out to Arcadian Pastures for the food justice conversations, Gretchen of Shape Up NYC for providing yoga, and DJ Hassan for providing music for the community to enjoy.

Come out for our next Community Friday on July 26 from 4-8 pm. Enjoy many FREE activities, including paddling on the Bronx River starting as early as 3:30 pm. Stay late during our next Community Friday to watch a short film presented by Bronx Documentary Center and full length showing of Spiderman into the Spiderverse provided by NYC Parks. For those looking to paddle on the Bronx River, arrive as early as 3:00 pm to reserve your spot in a canoe.

Interested in participating or supporting the events? If you are a local partner who would like to offer an activity at the park or an individual that would  like to volunteer, please contact foodway@bronxriver.org.
