It may not feellike spring yet, but a sure sign that it is on the way is the migration of baby eels ("glass eels") up the Bronx River. There is a lot that is not known about these fascinating creatures. Scientists believe that they are born the Sargasso Sea, but they do not exactly how or where it takes place. What we do know is that this tiny eels swim thousands of miles from the Sargasso to the Bronx River every spring – they will live their adult lives in teh Bronx River, and then make the long trip back to the ocean to spawn.
