after - 2007 photocredt JoanByroncropped

What’s a Foodway?

The term "foodway" is a cultural concept that refers to the intersection of food in culture, traditions and history. The goal of developing a Foodway at Concrete Plant Park is to create a productive landscape make up of edible and useful plants that the local community can use, interact with and learn from. Beyond just growing food, the Foodway will serve as a catalyst for activating Concrete Plant Park with interesting, community-led programming and engagement.

The Foodway: Food, Culture, Health & Arts Program (Foodway RFP), is a mini-grant program offered by Youth Ministries for Peace and Justice (YMPJ),THE POINT, NYC Parks, Patnerships for Parks and us, the Bronx River Alliance. Bronx-based community groups and/or indiviuals will recieve grants between $500-$5,000 per season for programs and/or events to engage the local community.

Proposals are due Friday, June 16, 2017 at 11:59pm.
