On September 21st, 140 volunteers’ on-land and on-water joined the Bronx River Alliance in celebrating our annual International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) at Soundview Park. Some of our partners included NYC Ferry, REI, Friends of Soundview Park, NYC Parks, Con Edison, Fordham University, Anheuser-Busch and many others. Volnteers filled 50 trash bags with coastal debris and over 5000 pieces of trash. Volnteers found strange items along the shoreline, and had an opportunity to participate in a raffle sponsored by REI. Thanks to the volunteers, their efforts will have a local and global impact along the 600 mile stretch of the Long Island Sound!
