The Unified Water Study kicks off this month!

IMG_20200625_070637

After months of safety considerations, careful planning, and virtual trainings, our ecology team has finally kicked off the Unified Water Study! Led by our partner Save the Sound, the Unified Water Study is an EPA-funded water quality monitoring program that spans the perimeter of the Long Island Sound, from coastal Connecticut to the North Shore of Long Island. More than 20 organizations participate in this study to measure the water quality in the embayments of the sound, which includes the mouth of the Bronx River. In doing so, we will get a better understanding of its overall health and which areas need special attention. We are looking forward to a wonderful monitoring season!
