Andrew joined the Bronx River Alliance in early 2025. He graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in Adventure Sports and Expeditionary Studies, where he developed skills in outdoor leadership, risk management, environmental ethics, expedition planning, and technical outdoor recreation, including rock climbing and paddling.
Andrew leads canoe trips, public paddling programs, and outdoor education workshops that connect community members to the Bronx River. Through these experiences, he helps raise awareness of the river’s ecology, history, and ongoing revitalization while inspiring people to feel more confident exploring the outdoors year-round. Â
Andrew is passionate about making paddlesports and outdoor recreation accessible to everyone, especially local community members who may not otherwise have opportunities to experience these activities. He believes that spending time outdoors fosters a deeper connection to nature, strengthens communities, and inspires environmental stewardship.
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys cycling from Queens to the Bronx, caring for his bonsai trees, and spending time at the beach
