Sophia Caporusso

Foodway Intern

Sophia is a Queens native studying Environment & Sustainability and minoring in American Indian & Indigenous Studies and Fungal Biology at Cornell University. Seeing nature in all spaces, she has been a passionate plant and mushroom forager for over three years, and is excited to be contributing to the Foodway and its community soil health program, as well as forming a deeper connection to one of NY’s most prominent waterways. Sophia also enjoys cooking vegan meals, attempting to bake sourdough, exploring NY’s natural spaces with family and friends, and playing with her dogs, Poppy and Luna <3
