Paddle Guide

Explore the borough’s hidden oasis on your own

Navigate the treasure of the Bronx River alone or with friends. The 23-mile Bronx River flows for eight miles through the heart of the Bronx. Experience the beautiful forested northern areas of the Bronx, gradually changing to the well known industrial area and the restored delta of the river.

The Bronx River Blueway Paddling Guide (PDF) will lead you along this hidden gem in New York City. And be sure to visit the interactive guide at on Habitat Maps.

Don’t forget to get your paddling permit from NYC Parks and check the USGS Flow Gauge and NOAA Tide Charts to check for optimal paddling conditions.

Happy paddling, it’ll be a great adventure!
