The Bronx River Alliance is thrilled to announce a 2024 Mini-Grants program form open to community members to host and facilitate workshops and events along the river! Through the Foodway and Greenway programs, community members can submit proposals and receive funding to activate spaces along the river highlighting themes of nutrition, food, movement, nature, mindfulness, and more.Â

Submit a proposal to activate the Bronx River Greenway, a continuous trail of bike and walking paths that connect the greenspaces along the Bronx River watershed. Proposals should activate the Greenway centering on themes around the environment, movement, community connections, and/or history and take place between May and October 2024 . Facilitators are asked to use the funds to cover time and materials (some materials may be available upon request following application submission and a one-on-one conversation). Mini-Grants are available in the range of $100 to $300, with a total of $3000 available. Submit your proposal HERE. Submissions must be made min 60 days before the preferred program dates. Note: Applications are reviewed and awarded on a rolling basis.
Submit a proposal to bring attention the Bronx River Foodway, NYC Parks Department’s first edible food forest inside a city park located inside Concrete Plant Park. Proposals should activate the Foodway site centering on themes around the environment, health/nutrition, movement, and or history and take place between May and October 2024. Facilitators are asked to use the funds to cover time and materials (some materials may be available upon request following application submission and a one-on-one conversation). A total of 10x mini-grants of a maximum $200 will be awarded to selected proposals. Submit your proposal HERE. Deadline for submitting: April 15, 2024 midnight. Awards announced April 22 – Earth Day.Â
