Local
East Tremont Safety Enhancements Now!
BxRA has partnered with Transportation Alternatives to launch a petition that calls on the Dept. of Design and Construction to start construction immediately on this fully funded project. It also calls on the Dept. of Transportation to implement immediate, temporary safety measures until construction begins. Residents have been waiting for decades for the project to break ground, and funding has been in place since 2008 with no official start date ever set.
By signing the petition below you will be automatically be sending an email to relevant elected officials and agencies based on your address.
City Wide
1% For Parks!
City parks cover 14% of NYC but the NYC Parks budget is just 0.5% of the total City budget – even with the FY22 NYC Parks budget being the largest ever adopted by the city. NYC’s parks are critical infrastructure that have been overlooked and underfunded for too long. The pandemic laid bare the inequities in NYC’s park system and highlighted the dire need to fund and build more parks to ensure equitable access for all New Yorkers.
The Play Fair for Parks campaign, cofounded by New Yorkers for Parks, is a multi-year advocacy effort that elevates parks and open space issues in NYC with the Play Fair Coalition, of which the Bronx River Alliance is a proud member.
Sign the petitition and stand with tens of thousands of New Yorkers demanding that the Mayor fund the NYC Parks Department at 1% of the city budget — an overdue investment in parks equity and the future of New York.
