October Events at the Foodway

Summer may be over – but the Foodway is still bustling with activity! Tune in this month for a full slate of exciting activities, including the installation of a brand new community wellness mural!

Community Wellness Mural:
We are excited to announce Stephanie Vidal and Fernando Leon’s design has been selected to be installed at Concrete Plant Park this month! Join us to meet the artists and hear more about the design virtually on our Instagram this Friday 9/30 at 6pm or in person this Saturday from 12-3PM at Concrete Plant Park. More details HERE.

Tuesday Volnteer Days: Throughout the month, we will be holding Tuesday Volnteer Days from 10-12 PM, Tuesdays through October, click HERE to register!

First Saturdays at the Foodway: On 10/2 from 10-3PM join us for a First Saturday at the Foodway. Lend a hand and connect with community and friends during our upcoming First Saturdays at the Foodway programming! Support morning stewardship (10-12 AM) and enjoy an afternoon of community programming including art therapy, foraging workshops, and more (12-3 PM)! Register HERE.

Foodway Tour with Open House New York: Join OHNY and the Foodway Team on 10/16 from 10-12 PM at the Bronx River Foodway for a tour of NYC’s only public edible landscape where stakeholders are encouraged to forage. Spirit Day with Destination Tomorrow: On 10/22 from 4-10 PM, join us for Spirit Day w/ Destination Tomorrow, an LGBTQ festival being held in Concrete Plant Park! Registration and more info coming soon.

Rap4Bronx Food Distribution Days: Join Rap4Bronx and the Bronx River Alliance for Food Distribution Days on the following dates:

  • October 15 2-6pm at Starlight Park. More info HERE.
  • October 29 2-6pm at Starlight Park. More info HERE.
  • November 5 2-6pm at Starlight Park. More info HERE.

The Goonies: That’s right, after being postponed due to weather, the Goonies is BACK! Join us at dusk in Bronx Park on 10/8 for a public showing of the Goonies at Bronx Park. More info coming soon.
